Our Second Official Clothing Swap!

After a successful first clothing swap, we decided to host another clothing swap!! This swap will be held on May 12th in Savannah, GA. Please reach out to us directly for the address.

Clothing swaps are a fun and environmentally-friendly way to refresh your wardrobe, save money, and reduce waste. Additionally, they help to build a community of like-minded people. 

Clothing swaps are easy to host and organize. They can be held in a home, yard, garage, or community center. As the host, you can determine the guidelines for your swap, such as minimum or maximum articles your attendees should bring. I prefer to not regulate the number of clothes people bring to help encourage everyone to participate. I also try to connect with local shelters and charities to get the remaining clothes to those in need, free of charge.

I conducted a study, asking over 100 people what they do with old or unwanted clothes, to which 95% responded “Donate to Goodwill”. While this can prolong the life of a garment, the chances of it ended up in the landfill are still high. Events like these inspire creative solutions to the problem of textile waste that has severe consequences on the planet.
